How will this feature improve the workflow or experience for all SSP users (keep it short and focused): samples/time fields which represent the cursor present vs total length/position would be great for further reference

aren’t these at the bottom of the recorder scope already?

no, those are just start & length value, in whatever quantity (not defined)

start and length both act as “cursors”, when you turn those parameters.
do you mean the position of the play head is not displayed?

exactly, esp. good to know where you are when playback starts to enter those values later in start/length

zoom functionality is quircky, to say the least, when watching longer files
zoom [0] or whatever should display the whole sample, and take it from there (zooming in/out)
