Hahahaha! Thanks for the honesty!
Hmmmm, I can see what you mean. I tend to forget about certain things and assume that people know the things I already know. The actual demo itself will not make such assumptions.
I know what you mean with the 301, but let’s not forget you can’t route any CV out of the 301, so the whole Planar bit wouldn’t be possible.
This 4 voice 4 layer sound is about 3 layers (plus a noise layer) coming from the SSP and then using the rest of my rack and the SSP to augment and extend that. The idea being to show that while the SSP can do it all, that it is also perfectly capable of helping you get the most from your rack.
The SSP has a wavetable osc, square wave oscillator, and granular synthesis module as sound sources per voice. It also has one state variable filter (in this case acting as a low pass filter), 1 output module (which is also applying global reverb and delay), 1 input module (responsible for routing the 3 input jacks receiving cv from the expert sleepers fh-1, and 1 midi module, which I am using to control some modulation within the wavetable osc. The WTO and saw osc each have their own envelopes as well. The granular module is further down the preset, and also has its own envelope, ans svf and is being controlled with another input module using the same 3 inputs as the wto and saw osc.
This comprises the synth portion of the patch, with the rest making up a noise source controlled by the Planar, another portion routing the planar signals also out of the SSP to modulate the Rossum Morpheus, and also a LFO being output from the SSP into the control forge so as to gate it. The LFO is being manipulated by the y position from the roli seaboard blocks, which controls rate of the LFO. The 4 Z3000s going through the er-301 are then going out of the 301 into the Morpheus, before going to the SSP.
The intention here was to sample this sound, and then use it in either the WTO or granular modules, while also adding it as an additional layer to the sound.
I like your idea, however, and will look into whether I can do anything worth demo’ing with it.
