MIDI input trouble

Having trouble getting midi into the SSP.
I’m using the ubiquitous Roland UM-One with an ancient Doepfer Pocklet Dial connected to it.
The SSP recognises the UM-One when I plug it in. Check.
The UM-One sees the incoming MIDI from the pocket dial (red led blinking). Check.

But I can’t get any of the modules to “see” any of the incoming midi signal on any of the midi modules, including the MTMO.
(Really feel quite foolish having all these basic issues getting things to work…)

Aha:-) The SSP needs to be booted with the UM-One already connected!
Now I can see/select the UM-one inside PMIX and with the “learn” button it works! I didn’t realise I need to active “learn” in MTMO, too…

yeah, its not really “learn” in my modules, its more midi configuration… as you need to select the device/port. - learn is just an additional feature there

though this is only for my midi modules - the factory MIDI module should just ‘work’, but it will only work with the one (the first) midi device.

I tried the Factory MIDI again and can’t really get a raise out of it. Must be doing something wrong… But yes, once I sussed the hidden double shift trick, and rebooted with UM-One plugged it it started to make more sense:-)

For now I’m just mapping a couple of PMIXers… But I’ll have to take a look again at vanilla MIDI and see why I’m not getting anything out of it…

Thanks!!!
