I’m curious for anyone that uses the xmx, with the macro module is just four or is it a few pages? Just curious how this works as it’s pretty crucial for my live use
generally, the modules of the xmx, are the same functionally, as they are for the ssp. but with a different (smaller) UI -so, like the SSP module it should be 8 - two pages of 4.
however, I just noticed it crashed when I tried to switch to the 2nd page.
ofc, you could use multiple MAC modules, but then you’d have to go via the ‘patch network’ page, to move between the modules.
all that said, I have to admit, I never use the MAC module.
mainly because, it doesn’t have much visual feedback on what is being altered, but also doesn’t fit into my ‘workflow’ (see below)
(this is why Id not noticed the crash on xmx ;))
instead, I use an external midi controller… (or sometimes a CV source), this provides more hands on control and the tactile interface I want.
also, frankly, I take the same approach with several other modules, so it means my midi controller becomes the ‘command centre’ for my eurorack patch, rather than fiddling with multiple modules
Yah I was probably going to get the 4x4 grid intech studio encoder midi mapped to use as pretty much a macro controller plus it doesn’t take up a spot in trax
