Leaving Percussa on in my all wood case, it can get pretty warm to the touch. Is there a recommended temp not to exceed? Are there any protection steps I can take?
saturday, i left it on the same screen for 12h straight, getting warm (but my case has wholes on the side & back, recommended) and fears of burn-in, but no problem
the ssp has a big passive heatsink and also dissipates through its front panel (aluminium) so you should be fine. Warm to the touch is normal. If it shuts down suddenly then you might have a heat problem but i have never seen that. You can always leave 1hp of space between modules but that is generally not necessary.
Mine gets pretty hot too, sometimes I can even feel it with my face if I am close to it. But then again, it is at the top of the case where all the heat gets collected. But when it was hot outside, I couldn’t even touch the panel for long because it is so hot.
if it is so hot you cannot touch it for long then the heat from other modules or your case is being dissipated through the metal work of the ssp as well, so not all the heat comes from the ssp.
