Unfortunately, I got the Continuum the day before I had to leave for work. So I’ve had all of about 5 hours with it total in my life.
I haven’t installed the Eagen matrix editor on anything yet. I simply turned it on plugged in some headphones and messed around with the default sound. It’s a synthy violin sound. Really good actually.
I’ve never messed with a Linnstrument but was also really interested in them. I learned how to play the piano as a kid, and the string like layout of the Linnstrument just seemed too daunting to me. Still really like it and hope to get one some day.
Regarding the Continuum: I’ve got a Roli Seaboard block setup. It works well, but just didn’t provide the feedback that really would help you to play it. I mean if you watch Roli’s video Marco has been able to do some pretty awesome things with it. The Purple Rain cover was pretty legendary. For me though the Continuum is just the gold standard for MPE controllers. It responds to the lightest of touch and is dynamic with what you are doing perfectly.
I’m exited to get back and really test it out. First thing I’m going to do is plug it into the SSP and see if the firmware registers it out of the box. It might depending on how Haken has it setup.
I hope you like the FH-2. I really like it so far. So much easier to configure and nicer to tweak. The extra client port is awesome. You can know sequence your eurorack through your FH-2 or whatever else can transmit midi over USB.
