when patching something into the bit rate of the BCR module, i get funny noise (clicks)
try patching an LFO or Step Sequencer to modulate the bit rate
even when no sound present, i get clikx, clocks etc
(sounds like audio rate modulation)
is this normal?
i’d say this is normal, i cannot see anything weird in the code
if you feed nothing into the BCR at all, so nothing connected to the BCR inputs, are you still getting clicks?
if i disable the Bit Rate input , then the tikkin stops ; this is a nice performance feat, but not one wants deliberately
(this is not normal with any bit rate reducer i know of, be it hardware or software)
are you modulating the bit rate of those other bit crushers at audio rate using a fast oscillator?
if you are feeding no signal into the bit crusher but you audio-rate modulate the bit crusher’s bit rate input, it is possbile that you get a weird output signal.
modulating the bit rate with LFO or CV
definitely inputting some audio, always
i don’t think anything is wrong with the bcr… i think what you hear is the result of modulation
i don’t think so
i was mangling an audio input ; a Hihat Pattern which played intermittent & also not 16 steps of a whole bar but some steps filled
i could clearly hear the LFO wave at the end clicking and at the beginning ticking , when no audio (hihats) were played
I think what @tiger001 is saying is that he is not audio rate modulating the bit parameter, he is feeding audio into the bit crusher input and modulating the bit parameter with a slow lfo, he hears clicks when lfo starts and ends it’s cycle.
thats it indeed - anybody else with this behavior?
