Basic operations such as how to exit from the plugin editing screen

I recently started using XMX.
I’m still figuring out how to use it, but is the only way to exit the plugin editing screen by pressing and holding the page- button (the top red key) for about two seconds? The waiting time is frustrating, so I’d like to know if there’s another way to do it.

Also, is there a way to scroll faster in the plugin selection screen?
If not, I would like to request that you allow us to adjust the scrolling speed in relation to the knob rotation. The default speed is far too slow.

exit module…
yeah, there really isn’t a spare button to allow for another solution, as buttons 1-8 and up/down are all used by modules. so finding a combo was a bit tricky.

for Trax I experimented with using both up/down to exit,
but I found that pretty unreliable / uncomfortable,
so similarly resorted to a long press action.

that said, one thing, I did that I think helps is I exit on holding for 2 seconds, so you get immediate UI feedback.
synthor waits for you to release, so you don’t really know when to release so, you end up waiting a little longer than is necessary.

scrolling don’t think so - though you can go from first item to last, if you are trying to get to the end of the list.
it be nice if the up/down buttons worked here.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I understand the reasons behind the current specifications regarding the operation!
If possible, I would like to have a configuration file that allows me to override the operation of the main unit keys (including long presses) with specific MIDI messages sent from the connected MIDI controller.

I am currently trying to install Trax, but even after renaming install.sh to SYNTHOR and running it, it doesn’t install, and when I check again with the card reader, it reverts back to the original SYNTHOR. Do you know what might be causing this?

I have confirmed that the TB plugins are working correctly.
Also, the TraxHost-master folder is located in the root folder of the SD card, but please point out any mistakes if there are any.

where did you get TraxHost-master from?
that is not included in the zip file!

Id assume you have downloaded from GitHub, but that was not part of the install process as described in the install file. which you must follow exactly, no extras/deviations

you can delete this folder.

as mentioned in the install instructions this is correct behaviour!

to invoke Trax, you need to

  • power down your rack
  • hold down button 2 on the XMX
  • power up your rack, whilst continuing to hold button 2 down

after a while (can’t remember how long - 15 seconds?) Trax will appear on screen.
note: it takes a bit longer the first time, as it will scan for plugins when it first starts.

to revert back to Synthor

  • power down your rack
  • hold down button 1 on the XMX
  • power up your rack, whilst continuing to hold button 1 down

i.e. when you boot up holding button 1 will start synthor, button 2 will start Trax.

let me know if this works, but from what I see above, it looks like you are all set to go.

interesting idea, something for Bert/Percussa to consider.
